- Get into groups of three. You will need a marker or counter to move round the board.
- Each of you choose one of the first three kings and place your counter on his starting square.
- Take turns to move one square each, following the instructions in the squares. As you go, add up the points the monarchy scores.
- Keep a note of the final scores and then repeat the game with the other three kings.
- Look at the totals for the six kings. If a monarch has ten points or more then it has more power than Parliament. If it has less then ten then Parliament has more power.

- Using two pages of your book, mark out 1-10 on the vertical axis, which represents 'Royal Power', and mark out 1066 to 1900 along the bottom.
- Place the following events on the power graph: When did Parliament become more powerful - events for timeline.docx. As well as putting them in the correct place on the timeline you will also need to decide how stron royal power was at that time taking into account what it says on the card.
