This term Middle School students are exploring a Houston man's experience of the Korean War (1950-1953) through the letters he wrote from the Theatre of War to his girlfriend in East 21st Street, Houston.
The Houston man was called William Arthur Cook (1926-1994) and his girlfriend was called Mary Lou Sides (1931-2005).
Billy's parents were Roy Burton Cook (1897-1953) and Ima Evelyn Quaries (1895-1987).
His younger sister was named Betty Joyce Cook (1929-2002) and his younger brother was named Enoch Ray Cook (1931-2009).
