REFLECTING ON THE FRENCH REVOLUTION AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE - WAS IT A TURNING POINT?
This video gallops over some of the causes and events of the revolution but think about what John Green says towards the end.
Make a list of the ways in which he suggests that the French Revolution could be seen as 'not that revolutionary'. Make another list of the reasons he does see the revolution as important.

This is another John Green video. If you have time to watch only a little of it in your lesson, watch from 11 minutes 30 seconds onwards and listen carefully to what is said about the effect of the revolution on some of the European colonies in the Caribbean. How does this enhance the idea that the French Revolution was a significant event?
